Oliver Coates is well known for his collaborations with leading contemporary musicians across many art forms. He is currently composing for the Royal Court Theatre, New Movement Collective, Ragazze Quartet and Cryptic Theatre, in conjunction with the producer Actress with London Contemporary Orchestra and visual artist Lawrence Lek. He scored the soundtrack to Lawrence Lek's Unreal Estate at the Royal Academy of Art, winning the Dazed x Converse Emerging Artist Award 2015. As a solo artist Oliver has won the Royal Philharmonic Society Young Artist Award, 2011. His first full-length solo album Towards the blessed islands was released in 2013 and his continuing work with composer Mica Levi has been widely influential, leading to collaborations including the Chopped & Screwed project with London Sinfonietta, the movie Under the Skin and a British Council / PRS for Music Foundation composer residency in Hong Kong. http://www.olivercoates.com/
