When Tape to Zero was asked to be involved in Musicity, the Norwegian opera house was an easy choice. With its abstract architecture, arts program, pull for visitors - national and international alike, location, and in short, the full extent of the whole building, the opera house makes for a great inspirational candy box.
Imagine being able to hear through time, shrinking the auditory history of this building so as to hear it all at once. This, combined with the idea of a bionic ear that can listen through the walls and ensnare the sound of the whole house and its surroundings at the same time, this is our composition. And it all begins with a tribute to Kirsten Flagstad.
PROFILE
Tape to Zero is a mini festival organised by two artists integral to Oslo’s contemporary jazz, electronica and ambient music scene - namely musician, producer, composer and label owner Kjetil Husebø and drummer, sound designer and programmer Terje Evensen. The two also collaborate on their own work – and the track for Musicity is the first piece of music they have composed/produced together under the name Tape to Zero.
